What is KONTAKT 7 PLAYER?
KONTAKT 7 PLAYER is a no-cost application designed to run Native Instruments’ sample-based instruments and third-party products tailored for the KONTAKT 7 PLAYER platform. Instruments specifically crafted for KONTAKT 7 PLAYER are compatible with both the player version and the full KONTAKT 7 software. You can use both KONTAKT 7 PLAYER and KONTAKT 7 as a standalone instrument or as a plugin (VST/AU/AAX) in your preferred host sequencer/DAW.
Can I load any third-party KONTAKT instrument into the KONTAKT 7 PLAYER?
Only third-party instruments created explicitly for KONTAKT 7 PLAYER can be loaded. Instruments not designed for KONTAKT 7 PLAYER require the full version of KONTAKT 7 to operate. However, they can be used in demo mode for 15 minutes at a time without the ability to save your work.

KONTAKT owners have access to the complete range of KONTAKT instruments, not limited to those designed for KONTAKT PLAYER.
I have the KONTAKT Instrument installed and registered, but I can’t figure out how to start the application.
To use a Native Instruments KONTAKT Hybrid Keys Download you must have either KONTAKT 7 PLAYER or the full-featured KONTAKT 7 software installed on your computer. If neither is installed, download the free KONTAKT 7 PLAYER, install it, and launch the application. Your KONTAKT instrument will appear in the KONTAKT PLAYER’s browser. Please note that some newer libraries might require the latest version of KONTAKT 7 PLAYER.

Updated Requirements:
- Kontakt 7 Version: This update requires Kontakt 7 version 7.6.0.
- Hybrid Keys.nki: Unchanged, requires version 6.2.1.
- Hybrid Keys 2.0.nki: This updated version requires Kontakt 7 version 7.6.0. To compare, you can save the Hybrid Keys 2.0.nki from the previous version by renaming it.
- Custom .nki Files: Your custom .nki files will continue to work without requiring Kontakt update, ensuring seamless compatibility. No issues have been reported.
